I know i wish to change my shifters because its cap came off and its condition is quite bad. i do wish to change my brake calipers too. Saddle i also do wish to change! Should i just drive over to the bikeshop with both frames and then let them swap over the parts?

Also, are tektro brakes any good? from fusioncycles.com . Btw, my ride is on ultegra, can i get 105 shifters?

Anyone tried the Suunto and Garmin HR monitors

In an Ironman race, I don't think this is ideal. How about Suunto? Has anyone tried it? I am thinking for getting one.

Would appreciate feedback on using these training devices.

Thanks

Giant Trinity Advanced SL

Trinity Advanced SL product update from Giant:

The UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) has determined that the model year 2010 Giant Trinity Advanced SL is no longer in compliance with its technical regulations. This latest decision is a reversal of the governing organization’s earlier agreement that the frame, fork and aerodynamic “AeroDrive” components were all in compliance. This ruling pertains specifically to UCI-governed time-trial competition and does not apply to non UCI-governed time trial events or triathlon competition of any level. For U.S.- based events, this recent UCI ruling will be superseded by USA Cycling regulations —meaning that all owners of a 2010 Trinity Advanced SL will be allowed to compete in all domestic time trial events for the remainder of the 2010 season. More information on this U.S. specific ruling can be found in the link below: http://velonews.competitor.com/2010/04/ind...nt-rules_111180 As a result of the UCI’s decision, the Giant-sponsored Rabobank Professional Cycling Team is testing a UCI-compliant version of the Trinity Advanced SL. With final verification from the UCI, this second-generation Trinity Advanced SL may see commercial production and be available for sale for the 2011 model year. Additional information will be presented in conjunction with the launch of the updated Trinity Advanced SL. For those qualified owners* of a 2010 Trinity Advanced SL to whom this ruling will impact their ability to utilize the bicycle in UCI-sanctioned competition, Giant asks that you please contact the local Authorized Giant Dealer where the bicycle was purchased for additional information and potential resolution. * “Qualified owner” refers to original owner of a model year 2010 Trinity Advanced SL 0, SL 1 or SL 2 (proof-of-purchase required) who can show proof that he/she is competing at the UCI-sanctioned level (proof of current racing license from federation that is sanctioned by the UCI or follows this UCI specific ruling). To qualify for this potential resolution, the owner must have purchased the bicycle and made their request for a solution, prior to June 11, 2010. This request (with supporting documentation) should be made via your Authorized Giant Dealer. If you purchase a Trinity Advanced SL 2, SL 1 or SL 0 after June 11, 2010, a letter containing further information about this issue will be provided to your Authorized Giant Dealer. Please ensure that you request a copy of this letter from your dealer.
